Its history goes back to the 12th century but De Spycker has been completely rebuilt in 1873 by Baron de Bie de Westvoorde and recently restored with much respect for the original architectural elements such a gesso mouldings, oak doors, woodenand marble floors etc by 2 couple antiques- dealers with hotelier-roots. Situated amidst the green county-side between Bruges & Damme, though only a minutes'drive from the Bruges' Market square it is an ideal to place for a restful stay while visiting Bruges and its surroundings. When driving onto the grounds, one is charmed by the long driveway towards the Chateau, the beautiful gardens, the lake and the old trees. Nowadays De Spycker is a home, a private showroom for antiques and exclusive designer fabrics and a place where one can welcome guest who appreciate the beautiful things in life.
De Spycker has 3 graciously, proportioned guestrooms, decorated with french block-print fabrics Based on 18 th C. patterns, painted panelling, thickly stuffed curtains, beautiful antiques and Marble bathrooms.
